View Full Version : Art supplies

I am sorta thinking about making an EQ Comic, but I am not quite sure of the necessary tools needed to make a very good one. If someone could give me a basic idea of what sort of art supplies I would need to create a nice, professional looking comic, I would be very grateful.

Scanner (or a tablet) and an image editing program you are moderately skilled with tends to be the most common I've seen used. But, I'm not an artist. Other people would know more than me (though I am a graphics designer in training).
There's also that blue lines and scanner trick thing.. that other people would know about.

I'm going to become a Graphic Designer when I get older ^_^ At least I hope to be, lol. Either that or an Animator of some sort. It all depends. But I'm fairly good with Adobe Photoshop, but not too great. Once I take some classes on it I should be fine. And as for scanner, I use my friend's, lol.

Adobe Photoshop (http://www.adobe.com) or Paint Shop Pro (http://www.paintshoppro.com) seem to be the most popular, and both provide a trial version you can play with to see which one you like better.
As for traditional art supplies, thought their choices are limited and their inventory tends to change fairly often.. *grumble*....http://www.in2art.com has some good quality art supplies that I found to be incredibly cheap.
