  • Air travel, WoW, and iPods.

    This has to be mentioned...

..or how a trip to Canada turned into a nightmare for one WoW guild leader.

It's pretty astounding that such an incident gets such a reaction. The man dropped his iPod. That's all. I especially liked the part about the inspection of the content of his notebook.
Listen to my music, hear what it can do.

          My brain is divided:

One half says: Yikes! What a waste of manpower.
The other says: Damn straight! Good thing they where careful and didn't take any chances.

At least all of my brain says: Poor guy.

I'll have to save this one as an example of the state of things during this era.

That was cool. Security can be a bastard sometimes.
Sometimes I do an impression of myself. I can dress like myself, even act like myself sometimes.

                        Yeesh. Poor guy.

Honestly, the officials did the right thing. What if the guy dropped his iPod and it landed under some aisle seat somewhere and there WAS a bomb in the toilet? You still have to check it out.

The whole part about looking in the guys PC for "hatespeech" though, scares me.

Canada's had some problems in the past with Nazi sympathizers spreading hate and racism and trying to hide behind free speech, I think it took 10 years to deport this one guy.

Why he was searching a young kids laptop for that specifically seems wierd, but that's why it's even on Canada Custom's Radar as undesirable to let into the country. At the border, not being a citizen you have no protected right of free speech, the customs agent can deny you access because he doesn't like your haircut, it's the same going into the US
